The Scottish Trade Unions Congress (STUC) and NUS Scotland are delighted to announce a new award for 2020 – The Trade Union Partnership Award.
The STUC are committed to co-ordinating, developing and articulating the views and policies of the trade union movement in Scotland. They promote trade unionism, equality and social justice, the creation and maintenance of high-quality jobs and the public sector delivery of services.
NUS Scotland are proud to support the work of the STUC in the education sector and promote solidarity and collaboration between Scotland’s students’ associations and its trade unions representing both academic and support staff across the country.
Please outline below the how your Students’ Union or Association has worked with the trade unions at your institution this year. Evidence of a strong relationship may include:
- Meeting with trade union reps from both the teaching and support staff unions
- Supporting striking lecturing staff
- Promoting the work of trade unions to the student population
- Engage with the campaigns of the STUC on campus (Young Workers Project/Betterthanzero)
