Election Deadlines

The Chief Returning Officer has decided  to pause all nominations and election processes until after the NUS Joint Boards' meeting in January. This means that all elections are paused and nomination dates are to be confirmed.

NUS Scotland liberation campaigns and sections

Full-time, paid positions:

  • Women’s Officer

Voluntary positions:

  • Women’s committee (4 places)
  • LGBT+ Officer + LGBT Committee (up to 6 places)
  • Black Students’ Officer + Black Students’ Committee (4 places)
  • Black Women's Sub-Committee (4 places)
  • Disabled Students’ Officer + Disabled Students’ Committee (4 places)
  • International Students’ Officer
  • Postgraduate Officer
  • Mature and part-time Officer

These positions are elected at separate, autonomous conferences, to be held in April:

  • Women's Officer (full-time position, to be elected at Women's Conference)
  • LGBT+ Officer (voluntary, to be elected at LGBT+ Conference)
  • Black Students’ Officer (voluntary, to be elected at Black Students’ Conference)
  • Disabled Students’ Officer (voluntary, to be elected at Disabled Students’ Conference)
  • International Students’ Officer (voluntary, to be elected at Sections Conference)
  • Post-graduate Students’ Officer (voluntary, to be elected at Sections Conference)
  • Mature and part-time Students’ Officer (voluntary, to be elected at Sections Conference)
  • Trans Officer (voluntary, to be elected at Trans Conference)
